On the second day of our trip we woke up in our giant suite, made coffee, and drank it in the sun on our giant suite's patio. Then we caught a cab back to the airport (courtesy of our hotel) to pick up our rental car.
We got to Enterprise and walked out to the lot to pick our rental car. Lo and behold they had a cobalt blue Ford Focus sat there for the taking. It was almost identical to our rental car we had in Ireland. Call it coincidence, call it luck- I'll call it fate :)
From there we drove out to beautiful Coronado and then down to Imperial Beach where we got out and walked the boardwalk.
As we approach La Jolla that afternoon the topography changed drastically. Te highway climbed up cliffs providing sweeping views of the Pacific. We stopped at several points along the way to take in the gorgeous views.
We dragged ourselves away from the view and drove to the hotel. Then we went to a local brewery for dinner and enjoyed watching people watch basketball- it was some kind of heated games and people were reaaaallly into it, which was incredibly entertaining to watch!

We ended the night with some relaxing tv watching. Day 2 definitely made up for all of the issues in San Diego!
